This translated into an increase in the demand for accommodation in the Riviera Maya, especially in vacation rentals. Rental houses and villas offer a safer and more private option for tourists who want to enjoy a beach vacation without worrying about crowds at hotels.
According to data from AirDNA, a data analysis platform for vacation rentals, the average price per night for a vacation rental in the Riviera Maya increased 25% in 2021 compared to the previous year. In addition, the number of vacation rental reservations also increased significantly. According to data from HomeAway, another vacation rental platform, the number of reservations in the Riviera Maya increased by 44% in 2021 compared to the previous year.
Most of the vacation rentals in the Riviera Maya are located in exclusive and private areas, which offers travelers the opportunity to enjoy a safe and quiet environment. Rental houses and villas also offer greater flexibility in terms of check-in and check-out times, allowing tourists to plan their itinerary more efficiently.
